BREAKING: INEC Rejects Turaki-Led PDP NWC
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected the Kabiru Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), pointing to ongoing legal disputes and existing court judgements.
In a letter dated December 22, 2025, and signed by the Commission’s Secretary, Dr. Rose Oriaran-Anthony, INEC stated that it could not act on requests to recognise or upload on its website the list of officers reportedly elected at the PDP National Convention held on November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan.
The commission maintained that recognising any faction amid unresolved litigation over PDP’s leadership would be inappropriate.
